those flashy undisputed 2010 videos that show real fight moments like anderson silva doing knee's or
dodging punches...then switching to gameplay videos that show somewhat of the same...
like wow it looks so real! but really...it goes from as real as it gets to robotic one way
everyday look the same rigid movements. yeah it's a game....but it's hard to call
ufc undisputed as real as it gets when you start breaking down the fluidness of the
standup gameplay. you dont see any nuances at all.
in 2009 you were stuck walking down the same path no matter what you did...
being punched in the face...same area. being kicked...same area...if you slipped a punch...
same area...everything felt so forced-stuck. every action had to finish it's animation to
be able to continue. the 2010 version seems to have some of those problems fixed...
but it still doesn't look right...it looks better... but really...if the fluidness in the game was
so amazing...you would be able to replay the fight and watch every body deform blow in
slow moation. not having a replay system...can be very telling when it
comes to the fluidness of a game. in the 2009 version they had trailers with anderson silva kneeing
a fighters face...but if you looked closely the knee didn't even connect...that same footage was
used in the undisputed tv commercials...wtf...and if you were to play the game...that missed knee
would somehow connect in beautiful fashion when viewing the replay in between rounds
or at the end of the fight. for crap like that to be accepted is pretty awful...
I couldn't stand that part of the game...it p*ssed me off having to see the replays
look 10 times better then the user controlled gameplay...then I started seeing the kicks
and punches land in the same area everytime...if that's not as real as it gets...
then I dont know what it is...
real life: anderson silva doing the matrix dance around punches
game version: 3 sways that i'm 99% shure every other fighter
can do in the same way and fashion. 3 sways that look nothing like anderson silvas
true to life movements. 3 sways that will look 10 times better when seeing the replay
counter punch version...
if anderson silva doesn't move like his real life counterpart in whatever action he does...
then that's not anderson silva...enderson silva has brutal knees...anderson silvas
amazing in the clinch...but if his movements before his actions look nothing like
his real life stance/movements it shure takes allot of feeling away from
the slogan- as real as it gets. 2009 was a big cut and paste job...
so far the videos for 2010 haven't blown my mind in the standup department...
it looks like a smoother version of the robotic system in the last game...
you can still see some of that non fluid roboticness present. to fix that junk...
i'm pretty shure they'd have create a new base that allows them
to go above and beyond...instead of trying to make what doesn't work in the first
place better...some of the knee's in one of the 2010 gameplay videos
looked like they were moving in fast forward....maby it was editing...
but it didn't look right at all...it's not just about making animations fluid...
it's also getting the true to life speed right. not saying there not doing that...
but if ufc undisputed 2009 could get away with punch/kick connecting issues...
if the creators can allow crap like that and think...uhhh we will fix
it in the next version...then i'm not expecting everything to
match what they say in all there interviews.
I wish people were asking the ufc 2010 developers why there isn't
a replay system...i would love to see there response...if they were to ever give it....
