Anyone else ever had shin splints? I do a lot of long distance running and this injury has annoyed me for several years. I've had it twice now and it hurts like hell, it's put me on the shelf for about 4 weeks :)|||Shin splints suck. I used to get them when hill running for roadwork. You can do exercises to strengthen the 'Anterior Tibialis' muscle at the front of the shin (Once you're feeling better). Something like this...

...will help balance out your lower legs. I should also try talking to a fellow runner about the way that you plant your foot when running in case you're getting the pain due to poor form.
