Not MMA.. But UFC. Awesome|||Yep, Dana doesn't like to associate himself with MMA. If he had his way he'd banish that word from the dictionary and replace it with UFC.
Sorry Dana but Pacquiao Vs Clottey, the boxing match NO ONE wanted to see generated more revenue than 50 UFC events.|||

but thats just the thing isn't it? The famous guys in boxing now are the only famous guys boxing is ever gonna have ever again.
MMA is constantly growing and evolving and when all of the Pacquiao's, Clotteys, Mayweathers and the Cottos are retired, Boxing will be done. Boxing is in a decline at the minute and MMA is the fastest growing sport in the world and soon it'll have swallowed Boxing.
Not to say Boxing will die out completly it'll still have a big fanbase, because the guys who have wathced boxing for years will still love it but it'll be nothing compared to MMA.|||

No because UFC isn't a sport.
Unless you are imitating Dana White, in which case, :)|||It's easy to be the fastest growing sport in the world when your the newest, also MMA sadly will never pass Boxing...ever|||there is room for both. had this duscussion many, many times...

i dont agree with DW's 'no one wanting to see' bullsh*t, thats just DW being DW (& if thats ur beef w/that statement - im on board), but not really a fair comparison as boxing puts up maybe 2-3 relevant PPVs a year & there are arguably 2-3 relevant PPVs a month in MMA.
those boxing events are more like the super bowl to the US (or bigger) in some areas around the world.
EDIT: Had to clarify. i realize the SB isnt that big a deal to most outside the US. just basing it on something i can relate to. here is damn near a national holiday.|||It is about boxing vs ufc, and not boxing vs MMA.
Dana, Rogan, and their children always bring it up. Trying to start some stupid "war".
To "Edge", you seriously have no clue what your talking about.
As much as you, Dana, Rogan, and the HW section of Sherdog hate it, boxing will never die.
It may "die" with upper class White people(who are flocking to the ufc), but it will never die with Hispanic and Black people.
The fact that you can't name other stars or up-and-comers, says more about you than the sport.|||
It's easy to be the fastest growing sport in the world when your the newest, also MMA sadly will never pass Boxing...ever
I believe that it will, someday. Not in the near future but in about 20 years or more.|||
your wrong there are great boxers out there the thing with boxing is fighters are rated by there skills not just tv hype like the ufc|||

I don't mean that there aren't great boxers i just mean that none of them wil be able to achieve the level of fame currently enjoyed buy Boxings elite these days. The Pacquiaos and the Cottos and the mayweathers will be the last big names in boxing.
Also you must be very ignorant if you think that MMA fighters are rated by their skills. Their is a degree of hype but its certainly isn't the only thing that people rate fighetrs on.
Thats my view on the matter.|||
SORRY BUT I MUCH RATHER SPEND MONEY FOR A BOXING PAY PER VIEW THEN A UFC PPV I THINK THE RULES NEED TO CHANGE IN THE UFC IF THEY WANT TO EVEN BE CLOSE TO AS GOOD AS BOXING I DONT WANT TO SPEND $50 TO WATCH MEN HUG|||
